In this two-hour Yin Yoga workshop, T'ai Jamar will guide you through this beautiful practice of long-held, deeply relaxing, passive yet energizing poses that open the meridians/pathways of the body. Unlike the (yang) athletic yoga you may be familiar with, Yin yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body and the fascia that covers the body (rather than the muscles). It is a quiet, meditative, internal practice.
She will introduce the meridian systems, meditation, breath-work and visualization techniques to quiet the mind and restore optimal balance and harmony to the body. You will have the benefit of time and patience to allow the body to unfold, unravel and discover the quiet, softer side of yoga.
The practice will conclude with aromatherapy and an extended sivasana to integrate and absorb the benefits of the practice, followed by tea.
